Former Cincinnati Bengals player Devon Still’s daughter has officially been cancer-free for two years. The proud father marked 6-year-old Leah’s “2nd birthday” with an emotional Instagram post Saturday (March 25).
“I want to wish a Happy 2nd Birthday to my daughter, Leah…Today marks [two] years in remission! From the moment we took this picture in the hospital, right before doctors walked in the room and said she had cancer, we had an extremely tough fight. But no matter how hard it got we never gave up.” the 27-year-old athlete wrote next to a hospital selfie with his daughter.
Still noted that the day was a celebration of Leah’s “ strength and perseverance,” through the cancer battle. “I love you more than you could ever possibly know,” he added.
Leah was diagnosed with stage 4 Neuroblastoma — a cancer that forms in nerve tissue– in 2014, and underwent surgery to remove a cancerous tumor from her abdomen. She was declared cancer-free the following year.
