After some delays that caused Rihanna to push back the tour a bit, the Bajan singer finally kicked off her 71-day Anti tour last night in Jacksonville, Florida. According to the Florida Times-Union the show was absolutely bananas and featured a Florida Times-Union the show was absolutely bananas and featured a “giant shower curtain dripping 10-foot chunks of foam behind the stage,” as well as a “flying bridge that carried the singer from one end of Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena to the other,” and “the most acrobatic corps of dancers this side of the Disney Animal Cirque de Soleil.” Sounds like a good time to us.
From the footages that barraged social media, the show seemed to be a smooth, excellently produced superior class of dope singing and choreography was greatly on point. The setlist was quite diverse. She opened with “Stay” and runs the length of Riri’s extensive career, including hits like “Bitch Better Have My Money,” “Umbrella,” and closing with “Kiss it Better.” She also performed other tracks like Eminem’s “Love the Way You Lie,” Kanye West’s “All of the Lights,” and Drake’s “Take Care.”
regrettably, as glorious as Rihanna was, opening act Travi$ Scott seemed to have had a harder time in front of the crowd and according to the report, “He said his equipment was ‘stuck in weather two hours north of here’ and he played on a nearly bare stage. His lighting was terrible – there was never a spotlight on him and you simply couldn’t see the guy.”
