TOP 10 EXOTIC CARS IN THE MARKET!

Written by 5 seconds Read

The Lotus Elise is a two seat, rear-wheel drive, mid-engined roadster conceived in early 1994 and released in September 1996 by the English manufacturer Lotus Cars. The car has a hand-finished fibreglass body shell atop its bonded extruded aluminium chassis that provides a rigid platform for the suspension, while keeping weight and production costs to a minimum. The roadster is capable of speeds up to 240 km/h (150 mph).[2] The Elise was named after Elisa, the granddaughter of Romano Artioli who was chairman of Lotus at the time of the car's launchThe Jaguar XFR (type X250) is a mid-size luxury car / sports saloon produced by British car manufacturer Jaguar. The car, which replaced the Jaguar S-Type, was launched at the 2007 Frankfurt Motor Show following the public showing of the C-XF concept in January 2007 at the North American International Auto Show. Designed by Jaguar's design director The XFR was announced at Detroit's North American International Auto Show in January 2009 as a new performance derivative of the XK range, and featured the new 5.0-litre Supercharged AJ-V8 Gen III engine rated 510 PS (375 kW; 503 hp), a revised front bumper and spoiler and 20-inch (510 mm)-inch alloy wheels. The Maserati GranCabrio, the first four-seater convertible in the Trident carmaker's history, will make its worldwide debut on September 15 at the upcoming Frankfurt Motor Show. The introduction of the GranCabrio - the Trident's third prong - completes Maserati's product line-up that now consists of three different families of models: Quattroporte, GranTurismo, GranCabrio. The GranCabrio represents the very essence of Maserati in terms of open-top cars. It's a Maserati in the purest sense of the word: from the unmistakable style by Pininfarina to the spacious interior, from the craftsmanship of each detail to the driving pleasure and performance. The Maserati GranCabrio enriches all five senses in a shared open-air experience, without sacrificing comfort and performance. A dream car designed and built for men and women who love to live life in an understated - though sophisticated - manner. Like all the made in Maserati open-top convertibles: special cars aimed at refined connoisseurs. The One-77 is Aston Martin’s definitive sports car, one that epitomizes everything Aston Martin from technology, the hand-craftsmanship of the hand rolled aluminum panels to the attention to detail. A culmination of the entire marque’s know-how, the One-77 delivers effortless beauty guaranteed to stir the senses with performance potential eclipsing any previous Aston Martin. The One-77’s structural core is a lightweight and immensely rigid carbon fiber monocoque. Conceived and designed at Aston Martin’s Gaydon HQ, the monocoque, or ‘tub’, has been built in partnership with Multimatic (MTC). As world leaders in carbon composite technology, advanced vehicle analysis and dynamic simulation, MTC brings unrivalled specialist capabilities to the exacting challenge of the One-77 program. The Audi R8 Spyder first appeared with the 5.2-liter Lamborghini-derived V-10. Although more power is always nice, it shipped with a $161,000 price tag, a nearly $50,000 premium over the base R8 (but only $15,000 more than the R8 5.2 FSI Coupe). To bring the drop-top experience to more people, Audi is adding another model to the R8 lineup. The R8 4.2 FSI Spyder produces 430 hp and launches the open-top two-seater to 62 mph in 4.8 seconds on its way to a top speed of 186 mph. It will also come at a less expensive cost to the consumer. The 10-hp jump from the 2010 4.2 FSI Coupe is actually a change made for all the V-8-engine R8 derivatives for 2011. Like the coupe, the Spyder’s engine is mated to the R tronic sequential manual or a six-speed manual transmission; Quattro permanent all-wheel drive is standard. Audi offers the R8 Spyder 4.2 FSI Quattro with a choice of three colors for the top: black, red, and brown. The soft top weighs approximately 93 pounds and helps keeps the vehicle’s weight and center of gravity low. The body is available in the solid finishes Ibis White and Brilliant Red; the metallic finishes Suzuka Gray, Teak Brown, Ice Silver, Jet Blue and Aurum Beige; and the pearl effect finishes Daytona Gray, Sepang Blue, Lava Gray and Phantom Black. The windshield frame is coated with anodized aluminum.Ferrari points to the number of awards its 458 Italia has won as a testament to the stellar nature of its track-ready sports car. Entering its third year on the market in 2012, the 458 Italia has already received more than 30 awards from around the globe. Motor Trend picked the 458 Italia from 10 other entrants as its Best Driver’s Car for 2011, specifically commending the 458 Italia for the “fine quality of its actions” and the “satisfaction it gives to its pilot.” Auto Express tested 30 performance cars and was able to extract its best track time ever in the 458 Italia, even besting the new McLaren MP4-12C to take home its award for Performance Car of the Year for the second year in a row. These recent awards sit on the mantle next to other accolades for the 458 Italia since its launch in 2009 as a 2010 model. It has been CAR’s Performance Car of the Year, the Daily Telegraph’s Car of the Year, Fifth Gear’s Fast Car of the Year, and Top Gear’s Supercar of the Year and Car of the Year. Even parts of the 458 Italia have been recognized: in 2011, the International Engine of the Year Awards declared the naturally aspirated 4.5-liter V-8 in Ferrari 458 Italia the Best Performance Engine. Since its inception as a successor to the beloved F430, the Italia has had one recall and a minor software upgrade. The sublime F430 is a tough act to follow, but Ferrari was so confident of its successor right from the beginning that it patriotically attached the name of the mother country, Italia, to the nameplate. Of course, the fact that a German, Michael Schumacher, played a key role in its development and, ultimately, how it drives, only enhances its credibility since he is also a seven-time world driving champion and a primary reason for the Italian automaker’s recent Formula One successThe worst kept secret in the auto world has become official. It is no big secret that Mercedes-Benz has been working on a convertible version of the SLS Gullwing. In fact, the first unit for North America was sold to one of the owners of duPont REGISTRY at the Boca Raton Concours d' Elegance (alongside the first R8 GT and a certain Ferrari). The first 2012 SLS AMG Roadster will land stateside in fall 2011. The SLS AMG Roadster will be set apart, of course, by its soft-top convertible mechanism. To cut the top off, Mercedes-Benz had to spend some extra time reinforcing the car’s structure and tweaking its handling. Additional support structures will add to the vehicle’s weight (90 or so pounds) but allow the top to be opened or closed at speed, specifically at speeds up to 31 mph. There is no latch to unlock as the opening/closing process is fully automatic and takes only eleven seconds. The soft top will be available in three colors—black, red, and beige—and, surprisingly, won’t eat into the car’s trunk space. Background: Lamborghini newest supercar, the Reventon, was finally unveiled to a waiting public at the Frankfurt Auto show. So for approximately $1.5-million dollars you would expect to get the newest Enzo-beater and Veyron fighter, right? Not so with the newest Lambo. The extra $700,000 over the cost of a Murcielago LP640 will net 10 extra horsepower! That’s an extra $70,000 per horsepower. Exterior: Like most car companies nowadays, Lamborghini is pushing that its inspiration for this car was a supersonic jet, in this case an F-22 Raptor. The Reventon has looks that quite simply take your breath away; the styling of this car screams a cross between a transformer and an F-117 Stealth Fighter. It still looks very similar to the last Murcielago, just with sharper edges, larger scoops, rims that look like they could dice fruit, and two large tail lamps that are large enough to be hidden jet thrusters. Performance: Since the Reventon engine, transmission, suspension, drive train, etc. are simply based off the Murcielago LP640, expect them to perform very similar to one another. The zero-to-60 time should be close to 3.4 seconds. The Continental GT was introduced in 2003 and, due to its extreme success, marked the first major step in Bentley’s resurgence after its split with Rolls-Royce. For the 2011 Continental GT, Bentley hopes to build on its success by revising instead of remolding its form. A more sculpted body gives the GT coupe a sharper and less bulbous appearance. The GT coupe’s grille is more upright and new headlamps offer jewel-like detailing with LED lights. At the rear, Bentley’s “floating” LED lamps now extend around the corners. Aluminium Super Forming technology uses a single sheet of aluminum for some parts of the car’s exterior. This process heats the aluminum panel to nearly 932 degrees Fahrenheit before shaping it with air pressure. Partly due to this process, the power lines and rear haunches are now sharper. A new trunk design also now features a powerful “double horse-shoe,” much like the Mulsanne. The new GT is also more aerodynamic with a coefficient of drag that has been reduced to 0.33 Cd and the lift at the axles has been reduced to create greater stability at higher speeds. Overall, the GT coupe is 143 pounds lighter thanks to reductions in many areas. The result is a marked improvement in the GT’s power-to-weight ratio.Bugatti Automobiles S.A.S. plans to unveil its new supercar-the Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport-on the awards ramp of the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance on Saturday, August 16, 2008. The following day, soon after the Concours presents its Best of Show award to some deserving collector car, chassis number 001 of the new 2009 production model will be sold at the Pebble Beach Auction presented by Gooding & Company to raise funds for one of the Concours charities-the Pebble Beach Company Foundation, which supports educational programs to aid the youth of Monterey County.
