WTF right?
This could all be for various reasons of course. The clearest explanation is TIDAL: the site, which West has given the selective and exclusive stream rights to, mysteriously does not report its streams to Nielsen Music, so this will make them unable to count toward total units and Billboard’s chart rankings, whats the point right? Also, West permitted the album to be downloaded for nothing upon its introductory release (that alternative was evacuated, and right now audience members can just stream the album completely). However, and on the grounds Internet, the album set records for unlawful downloads from different Torrent destinations.
hmmm, maybe West has an endgame, or not we’ll just have to wait and see.
But just imagine the total number of illegal downloads more or less because of TIDAL, crazy! but on a good note According to TMZ, The Life Of Pablo is single-handedly responsible for an exponential increase in subscribers to roughly 2.5 million, a huge growth from original reports of around 1 million subscribers. TMZ also reports that while there has been discussion for a possible physical release of the album, nothing is set in stone yet.
