Apple music fans usually have to bite the bullet when it comes to major music releases from their favorite artists. Music Moguls such as Sean Carter have taken over with apps like Tidal and more. This time around they won’t be as salty. This week Drake announced that his newly anticipated album “Views from the 6” will be available exclusively on Apple Music first.
The Canadian rapper is building a relationship with Apple that goes back to his last studio project “What a Time to be Alive”. That album streamed first on OVO sound radio which also is in partnership with Apple Music.
Streaming music for a monthly fee has become a go-to move for many artists who look to be paid in a world where the idea of buying a physical copy of an album doesn’t exist. In fact, Kanye West drove Tidal subscribers up through the roof with his latest album “The Life of Pablo”. That album received 250 million streams in the first 10 days and like Drakes album has been hyped since 2014. Apple music should receive somewhat of the same boost if not more although they do significantly lead its rival Tidal in active streamers.
“Views from the 6” has a release date of April 29th exclusively to Apple Music.
